Who We Really Are

Not your typical suit-and-tie architecture firm

Our Story

Look, we didn't start this firm because we wanted corner offices and fancy titles. Back in 2014, three of us were sitting in a cramped coffee shop on Queen Street, sketching building concepts on napkins and complaining about how traditional firms were ignoring sustainability.

Fast forward to now - we've grown into a tight-knit team of 17 architects, designers, and sustainability consultants who actually care about what we're putting into the world. Every project we take on has to pass what we call the "grandkid test" - would we be proud showing this to our grandkids in 50 years?

We're based in Toronto but our work spans across Canada. We've done everything from tiny laneway houses to massive commercial developments, and honestly, we love both equally. There's something special about solving problems with real constraints, whether that's a tight urban lot or strict heritage guidelines.

How We Got Here

A decade of learning, building, and occasionally messing up

2014 - The Beginning

Three architects, one vision, and way too much caffeine. We landed our first project - a sustainable renovation in Leslieville that taught us more than four years of school ever did.

2016 - Going Commercial

Took the plunge into commercial architecture. Our first office building in Mississauga became LEED Gold certified and suddenly people started taking us seriously. Who knew?

2018 - Team Expansion

Moved into our Bay Street office and doubled the team. Started winning awards we didn't even know existed. Still kept the same coffee machine though - priorities.

2021 - Pandemic Pivot

Like everyone else, we learned to work remotely. But it also pushed us to rethink how we design spaces for living and working. Some of our best residential concepts came from this period.

2024 - Today

17 team members, 200+ completed projects, and we're just getting started. Working on our most ambitious sustainable development yet in North York.

The People Behind The Plans

We're architects, but we're also parents, cyclists, coffee snobs, and weekend DIY warriors

Lead Architect

Sarah Atquinth

Principal Architect & Co-Founder

Sarah's the one who keeps us grounded. She started designing sustainable homes before it was trendy and has this uncanny ability to see potential in the weirdest spaces. Outside work, she's restoring a Victorian house in Cabbagetown - practicing what she preaches.

Design Director

Marcus Osik

Design Director & Co-Founder

Marcus is our resident perfectionist - in the best way possible. He's got this background in engineering that makes him obsess over details most people never notice. His designs have won us three Ontario Architecture Awards, but he's most proud of his kid's treehouse.

Sustainability Lead
Elena Kowalski

Sustainability Consultant

Elena joined us from Vancouver and brought a whole new level of green building knowledge. She's certified in basically every sustainability standard that exists.

Project Manager
David Chen

Senior Project Manager

David's the guy who actually gets things built on time and on budget. He worked in construction for 10 years before joining us, so he knows every trick in the book.

Interior Designer
Priya Sharma

Interior Space Specialist

Priya makes sure our buildings aren't just structurally sound but actually livable. She's got this talent for maximizing space without making it feel cramped or sterile.

Urban Planner
Thomas Blackwood

Urban Planning Lead

Tom's our big-picture thinker. He looks at how our buildings fit into neighborhoods and communities. Used to work for the city, so he knows the approval process inside out.
